"together, we can save somebunny today." Cottage Rabbit Rescue is a non-profit organization and Maine's first and only licensed rabbit shelter, located at Cottontail Cottage in Lamoine. We are run entirely by volunteers, dedicated to rescuing abandoned, neglected or surrendered rabbits and finding them loving, forever homes. Our orphaned rabbits are provided with physical and social rehabilitation and sanctuary at the "Bunny Barn", until they are deemed fit to be matched with qualified adoptees or foster homes. We seek to educate the public on the care for these beautiful creatures, as well as the importance of spay and neuter.

Please consider adopting, fostering or sponsoring a rescued rabbit. Donations are critical to continuing our efforts - every dollar counts to help us develop a foundation for future sustainability for our rabbit rescue. Currently we are sheltering an average of 40 rabbits, and are at near-full capacity.  The shelter is funded by donations to help cover the cost of habitat, food, rescue transportation, and veterinary expenses for some of our injured or disabled rabbits. At the moment, we are fundraising to start a spay/neuter program for all of our surrendered rabbits. Please let us know what you are able to do.
