Lucky is a tort-colored, Holland Lop. He is very small. When he came to us, he was undernourished and terribly frail. Sadly, Lucky was born with Malocclusion: when teeth turn to tusks. Rabbit's teeth never stop growing. When they are born with Malocclusion, their teeth are misaligned: preventing the rabbit's natural grinding abilities to keep them at the correct height. With Malocclusion, the teeth continue to grow until they curve up, in and around the rabbit's mouth preventing them from eating and drinking; and eventually, without treatment, they will die. Most breeders solve this problem by "culling" or killing, rabbits born with this genetic defect. Caring for Malocclusion is a relatively simple - yet expensive - treatment. It involves having the vet shave down the teeth with a dremel tool every 4 to 6 weeks. The cost of this "visit" is $55 dollars! We named Lucky, "Lucky" because if he hadn't have come to us, he surely would have died. Lucky is the sweetest lil boy, you have ever met. Whatever the problems, the beauty and uniqueness of this little rabbit is reward enough. Won't you consider Sponsoring Lucky today?
